Had quite a good day there on Sat. Like the set up but surprised for the size of the place there is nowhere to get a snack but there is as much tea and coffee as you want for free, just go and make it.
The first lake is just getting over an algal bloom by the looks of things but all the others are clear. Had my 4 fish limit, all fish fell to a Gold Head Hares Ear, wouldn`t look at anything else. Funny thing was they wanted it in quite a fast retrieve. Only noticed this when I was going to move when not had a bite and pulled the line in at a good pace to see a bow wave right behind the fly. So made a recast pulled away and got the first fish of the day.
Not all things go by the book then. didn`t even see a follow when figure of eighting.

Holdury is indeed a nice small fishery, and it seemed to keep going OK during the hot weather. When the level is up a bit their stretch of the River Dun is worth a go, stalking browns with a dry or nymph.
