hi Tommythis, i cant think of a good stillwater near wakefield, maybe walton hall but i would'nt take a beginner there, i think you could do worse than taking him to maran lakes @ wetherby you dont need to cast too far, its well stocked a few different lakes to go at but take your wellies!!

I would give Walton Hall a go,good this time of year due to all the daddies blowing in off the golf course,if you dont fancy that you could try Stubbs Hall on the A638 Doncaster Wakefield road,nice and flat around the edges so a novice shouldn't need to worry about their backcast so much.
