Question Alton Manor

Has anyone fished Alton Manor this year?
Went a number of times last season as it's only 5 mins down the road but not been this year.
I know it gets a slating from a few forum members but if nothing else it's a nice place to chill in the evening with a beer or two!

Arrow not been for a few years

Used to go, gave up due to the quality of the fish - it is a pleasant spot though.

However the "original" lake (the one that is difficult/almost impossible to fish other than by standing on the road) holds some cracking fish - including some native brownies, as the lake intercepts Ecclesbourne Brook. And some good rainbows - it doesn't get fished much.

And the lake by the road, which is almost always coloured up, holds some cracking tench which will take a bottom fished nymph, if that floats your boat.

I don't think the Farmers Jones look after the fishing side of it very well though
They were more interested in the shooting - which was all about bringing on loads of battery-farmed pheasants.

Does the big lake still leak from time to time? I remember when he dug it out, never got the foundations right...
