I fished Beanhill yesterday morning for a couple of hours just after first light in the frost. Had 3 pretty looking rainbows, 2 of them around 2.5lbs the last one a good 2lb-er. All caught on buzzers, no luck with anything else. Lovely sheltered lake, good surface action and loads of insect life at sunset the night before. Nice set-up and very friendly couple that run the camp/caravan site.

Default £25 4-5hours c&r (and u take 2 fish)

managed to get a hold of the owners and was told its £25 4-5hours c&r but u need to kill 2 fish.

I was also told no bright flies allowed.

Putting this info up in the hope it helps other fellow anglers as their offical website doesnt say much about the dos and donts which is important in deciding if u want to fish a fishery or not.

Personally i dont touch a fishery that does not offer c&r of some sort,

been to too many places you get your limit in 30 minute (4fish etc) is certanly not a days fishing after 1.5 hour drive one way really really does my head in, feels like you spent more time on the motorway than fishing.

Try fishing for wild browns next season. You'll get way more value for money, fewer stupid rules and you'll find catching the fish a bit more challenging and rewarding. there's almost nowhere without C&R, in fact many places insist on it.
