Hi mark fished into the wind on the bank by the coin machine (by the houses).I had two rainbows on buzzers and my mate had one but lost three or four fish.Lots of people spinning or bait/worm fishing taking up a lot of the sheltered parts of the lake. But it did look ideal for drifting in a boat.If i fish it again i would probably take a day of work and fish midweek.
Are there any pike in the water?

Cheers Dave.

What's the deal on boats there? - can I just take one up, buy a fishing permit and use it? or is there a separate boat ticket?

First of all NO PIKE at all but plenty of perch. If you dont mind a long walk head up the top end on the same side as you fished, there's some lovely spots to fish up there and its fly only from the tower.

Nearly all the boats if not all of them are privately owned, so no you just can't "take one" and fish, there's no extra cost if you know someone with a boat.

I'm going out on the boat tomorrow i'll post on here how i got on

Regards Mark

Hi Downstream
I dont think that you can, there's a yearly charge of £165.00 to pay and they insist on public liability ins as well. Went up yesterday in that horrable weather we had 6 each mostly on dabblers pulled through the wave all rainbows no browns.

Regards Mark

Thanks - the Public Liability is not a problem but £165 is a tad steep.
