Default Farmoor 1

Is Farmoor 1 still fishing well ? I noted Royston's report of the 13th, but that is getting on a week now. Any info gratefully received.

I fished it on Saturday and only managed one (@ 5lb) after a double hook up to a Sedge pattern. I found it harder than than I had previously but it was a very blustery day and I fished like a buffoon.

The other chap I saw fishing had managed three before I left on DB's.

There are surprisingly still very few people fishing Farmoor 1, looking at the book the two people who fished it on the Friday had 16 fish between them so I would say still well worth a visit.

Thanks for the replies, and sorry about my delay in reporting back. We certainly didn't hammer the fish, but had plenty of sport, right on the top, but only to pulled sparklers.Even though a few fish were showing I could only manage one on the nymphs, having tried all sorts (and dries) down to #16's. A cormorant boobie,#12, and a #12 sparkler six feet below provoked a lot of interest, though I only had three fish to the net, and my mate four. Having said that they were grilse like fish, in size and condition, and fought all the way to the net, even though I play them hard!
Interestingly I noticed on the Farmoor site (thanks foir the link Charlie) that a guy fishing next day had ten, all of which pulled his d.b's hard.We were obviously doing something wrong.Wardens very helpful, as usual.
