Good stuff - enjoy! And don't forget to claim your pension when the time comes - although I will be long gone from that department by then, and probably long gone altogether!!

I was in Manton Bay yesterday afternoon and that's also fishing really well. Drifting from the sticks down the middle of the bay, loads of follows and takes. Other good drifts were lax hill towards browns island and old hall point.

Default North arm ?

Andy, its that long since I have been down the north arm I am struggling to remember where the bird hides are. As you head down the arm were you on the left bank or the right bank ? and how far down? It would be great to see the north arm fishing well again, my very best Rutland bag came from Tim Appletons one September afternoon many many years ago, not a single fish under 3lb, best went to 4.5lb and the backing was tested on more than one occasion

The fish were on the fry and by using a white lure on the point and and top dropper with a buzzer in the middle with a wet cell 2 (remember those ) you could either catch on the first part of the retrieve with the lures or on the buzzer on the hang, it was a perfect day and the great memories has kept me going through a few blank periods over the years.

Yes I do remember wet2s mainly in shooting head form ,these days My way with trout is almost always floating line work ,not decrying others but do not enjoy sinkers any more ,had my deadblackbird days on the Queen mother resser !
I do have and sometimes use a WF8 wet2 for seatrout ,and have the fullrange of sinking salmon lines .

Early yesterday felt an inter would have helped me get down a tad ,so have asked the Pirete for one ,along with a #6 floater for boat partner Mark whos elderly 555 floater got binned at end of play (felt guilty as I sold him that one )
