..... and the north shore, and on rubber dingys, and on rafts....

Lovey location spoiled by, as Jim so aptly puts it, the bucky brigade

I've not much idea of how the Loch is fishing, was talking to a lad who has had some big rainbows but all on bait. Certainly with the high water there have been quite a few escapee rainbows in the River Earn so I imagine there will be even more in the Loch.

Would you care to elaborate? Boats rubbish or too expensive, not enough fish, bank side antics just too much? It usually produces plenty of fish although a lot a escapee rainbows Its a lovely location though?

DO you get a free bottle of bucky if you are brave enough to fish next to the bucky boys!!
Do the bucky boys sit on their a**** and fish with big bubble floats..

They sit on their a$$*$ once they're too tired of burning everything.

Seriously though loch earn is a good loch. It's where I caught my first fish 14 years ago and ive fished it regularly ever since. Best to fish from the boat though not only because you'll cover much more water, but also to avoid the bait fishers, a small number of whom are scum

Hi Guys

Forget the boats get a tube been up two sundays, yes you could see the "wee-gee" fires and hi-vis jackets on the far bank .....but £8 for the permit, launched our float tubes from the slipway near the cages first week my mate took 8 rainbow, i hooked 3 missed 5 or 6 landed 1 forgot my legs were there (new to tubing) next trip my other buddy blanked i landed 5 rainbows returned 2 wee browns.

There rainbows were all "peas in a pod" 14" but fin perfect and fought like stink ! trying to dive deep !

Last year was the first time i fished the Earn and the shore is in a pretty sorry state however tubing has open up a new clean peaceful aspect Oh also get cracking views of the ospreys they did better than us
