Hi There.

I had a great day out yesterday.

We had a good drive up from Berwick and a nice breakfast in the Lake Hotel.

The weather was great with light winds and only a few light to medium showers from time to time in the afternoon.

I was fishing in the Ellem Club annual Lake competition and had my five fish by 11.50 am.

We stopped for lunch and I then tried to help my boat partner get his fish in the afternoon.

Bob is 84 and although he is on crutches he is a good angler once he is in the boat. He had one fish in the morning and lost another as well as having a few more pulls.

In the afternoon he had a double up on with one fish of about 3 lbs. and another of 5lbs.

The smaller fish took a dropper away and the bigger fish came off at the net! Arggghhhh....

He lost another fish later on and had a few more pullls.

I managed another three as well as having few fish dropping off the barbless hooks and a few more takes.

So a great day out for me and certainly a lively one for Bob .

The Club weighed in thirteen fish and we finished off the day with a good meal at the Lion and Unicorn in Thornhill.

Best Regards

robbie

I was there today, Jim, and had 4 for 11.5 lb. The club had a total of 55 fish for 17 rods (I think) with a few more fish returned. Lots of fish in Gateside bay, some in Int bay, and I understand fish were caught in the Sam's point to Hotel Bay area. One of our guys bagged up without moving much more than 100 yds from the boat beach. I heard him trying to arrange a petrol refund with Douglas!!

Mixture of methods, from floaters to fast glass, dries (small, I hear, (16)) to Cat boobies. Crunchers, cormorants and daddies also accounted for fish, with most people twiddling, rather than pulling.

All the best,

Hi There,

I had fish on Dries, Nymphs and Lures.

I fished a Floater, Midge Tip and Fast Glass mainly in the Gateside Bay and Dog Island area.

Best Regards

robbie
