Castalot is on a distinguished road
Question Brenig

Just been to Brenig on Thursday (17th July).
Air temp just 12 degrees c , felt cold.
Drifted from Hafod Lom woods to Ring of Stones,
around the island, some fish rising, had one offer nothing hooked. Seemed to be very selective feeding.
Caught a perch nr the Brenig arm corner, (never knew they were here) then drifted to the island again on the other bank. Result - nothing.
Worked up towards the dam, via Quarry, had one offer on fast sinker and small flies.
Worked Tower Bay at 4.30 pm, saw one fish move -covered it - no takes.
6pm - evening rise of sorts happened, fish everywhere, partner caught 4, largest 5lb 4oz, I caught 5 all stockies.
1 hr later nothing. Fish disappeared.
I also noticed, that initially we had to cast our flies almost right to the bank, for the fish to follow, until they moved out into the lake.
This is the strangest day I've ever had here.
My boat partner thought that the fish in the cages were being fed at the same time as they came to the surface, and they were moving upwind towards the cages.
What do you think ?
