hi, would just like to give bangour trout fishery, the praise it deserves. the place has seen some amazing changes since the new owner has transformed the place. where else could you have the chance to catch a 20lb plus carp at a trout fishery? two have already been caught on the fly, at over 24 pounds, and the place is teaming with double figure rainbows. i have no connection with the fishery or the owner, i just want to give some praise to a genuine guy who has worked hard to turn an average fishery into an amazing place to spend a day or evenings fishing.

Many, many years ago before it was a 'fishery', we used to go up as youngsters armed with bubble float and fly to catch the elusive wild brownies that were in it. Always remember seeing a carp the size of a barrel cruising along the dam wall - it kinda freaked us out a bit, not being used to seeing such fish - needless to say we cast the bubble & fly rig over it a few times to no avail. We were sort of glad it didn't take.....

Looking at the pictures on the site though is like revisiting a 'wild' place you stayed in 30 years ago only to find it unrecognisable - often best not to go back.
