Default Grafham

Went to Grafham yesterday, fishing from the bank in the afternoon and evening. Blanked. I didn't see anyone else catching either.

Were any other forum members there ?

I fished Grafham from the boat in the 'Anglian' Sunday and Monday.
What a moody mare Grafham was!!
Sunday was hot with a good breeze. The dam area was the best although there were some rising fish to the left of the Boat Bay. But the fish were really moody. Tried allsorts from floater and nymphs down to Di 3 with blob and nymphs. Got plenty of offers and plucks. The sum total for our team was one fish each! Good practice!

Monday saw cloud and more breezy conditions. Majority went down to the dam area. But the day was different. Fished peachy blob with Pearl Cormorant on a kelly. Fish were more receptive! Caught some then boat partner was wanting G bouy. We were the only boat there and there were fish! I went to a Di 3 as the wind got up a bit more and yesterdays taps were lock ups. Lovely fish and fought like demons.

So two differing days one a struggle and a bag up the next! The fish were on the Daphnia with the odd buzzer and terrestial and were in the top two feet of water.

Rod average was over five! It was hard work but great fishing.

Forget it fron the bank this time of year if it's bright and you are there after 8am.

Thanks for the input guys. I'll wait for cooler weather and reserve a boat next time. Sometimes you are just in the wrong place at the wrong time !

Hi folks,

I'm up there next weekend for our Anglian heat. Did anyone fish Grafham this weekend? I'd very much appreciate a Pm with any info. (big snog and hugs in return).

(not you though PP).
