I thought it was a coarse fishery already.

Last time I was there we were the only boat that ended up fishing the fly. The others (local Fifers) as soon as the boatman left, festooned their casts with maggot & a few even anchored up & blatantly ground baited. A written complaint to the owners fell on deaf ears. Ok so this was a few years back but put me off going back there & a few other places, Menteith included & this sort of thing coupled with competitions I now very rarely fish stocked Rainbow waters, much preferring the pursuit of wild fish in remote locations. Only thing that disappoints me it that they will move elsewhere & give them the benefit of their fishmongery. Sorry but there you go.

never been a coarse fishery mate, but i see what you mean

there are loads of stocked waters closing down these days. i too prefer rivers but sometimes i do like a fight with a stockie or 2.

cheers
