Hi fished there today, very difficult as the fish are preoccupied with pin fry. Fished there alot this season and had some cracking sport. I think it's just normal at this time of year the fishing can be tough at any venue. Don't write Llandegfedd off as it's a fantastic venue when it's going well.

Theres no shortage of fish at this venue, they have been stocking llandeg very well this year , but as the previos answer said right now they are on the pin fry, if the wind is kind to you try a long drift down the east bank and fish small lures such as alexandra , this should put a fish or two in the boat, plz let us know how you get on this weekend, tight lines............chris.

I always used to do well when they were on the pin fry. If the wind is right a good drift is into or across the entrance of Green Pool and use a large PTN which is a good imitation of a pin fry. You might have to get through a few perch but the trout are in there amongst them.

Llandegfedd has the same pH value as Blagdon and grows big trout without any need for stocking large fish. in the early days they had 8lb rainbows and even larger browns running the feeders grown on from 15" stock.

You had a good day, I found that orange/orange yellow were the colours of the moment. It's a great colour for the summer, try an orange Blob,or a cocktail of orange and yellow Blob on an intermediate line. Mix the retrieve up abit and hang on!

nice to see you got a few cheekz, it can be so hard at times when they are so occupied with pin fry, as for the weather on sat well i drove home from swindon in the afternoon and the driving conditions on M4 were terrible with the wind and rain, but i think i may book a boat myself for one day during the week and give llandeg another go, tight lines......Chris.

Good to see you found some fish cheekz. I had a boat out with a mate of mine last week. We forgot to pack the drogue and the wind pushed us all over the place. There were quite a few fish jumping clear of the water near the dam but we only managed one on a Booby with a floating line. Switched to a fast sinker and an orange blob and cats and we found fish. There are plenty of fish in there for sure, it's just a question of finding them. The rangers office give honest and accurate info on where to go and what to do. I ended up doing several drifts from the cages down the North shore and found fish all over that area. Let us know how you get on next time.
