I know this probably not a great result for most of you but finally I land a fish after 8 attempt in 3 years. I don't count the very first time as it was the luck of beginners (a 5lbs and a 6lbs on 9' #5 rod).
This time it is a 2lbs trout and I lost a 5-6lbs one which unhooked itself on the floater, I can guess the size because it jumped 4 or 5 times and I add it for 5 minutes.
I was so happy that I didn't fished the afternoon.
I need to tie a new booby because it didn't survive this time. I caught all my fishes with it this year. I know that doesn't mean much because I fished only three time this year (twice Chigboro and this time at Hanningfield). I need to tie a new one, black body, yellow eyes, pearl theard on each side and copper wire, pure invention I think.
Maybe things were easier because they stocked 4 days ago, but I didn't see many people catching.
The new Redington red.fly 10' #7 did very well despite the wind and especially with the TT7 intermediate line I used.
I hope next time I can find someone to show me how to fish from a boat for once.
