I'll be watching this one with interest, but I won't be holding my breath. Loch Leven is notoriously difficult to get up-to-date specific information on. I don't know why that is, but that just seems to be the way it is there.

There are a few however who as always will give a good steer. Hope you find them.

C/F I know a few tricks mate its all in hand! well the vice, Im hoping the curly bums will be out and the trout are on them!! Ive large cdcs tied ready for action! Then Ill move onto the wets! At a push mini lures e.g. sparklers pulled on a di5 may be needed but I hope not!!!!!! A few years ago its was 1 of my top waters then the bows were stuck in and I went of it, after a benson and hedges heat! 14 to my rod and only 4 weighed in a limit of bows 3 and 1 brown! I had 13 bows that night Willie took me to the fish and I caught them!! Those were the days!!

hmm a local boy i worked at inverkeithing for a few years with the boys from lochgelly ,dumfermline glenrothes dalgety bay ect and trying to get them to talk on any matter was like trying to get blood from a stone so i know where ur coming from there is it due to the fact the water is fished by clubs perhaps not wanting to pass on tactics
we,ll see who post what cheers

Worry not CF, after tomorrow night I will be able to reveal all the areas devoid of fish, all levels fish are not found at, and, all non-killing flies.
Likewise, I have found Leven regulars & staff, wouldn't show a blackies nest. But, ask the first fisher you see or any fisher-minded staff at the English competition waters & they are only too willing to help an angler have good days fishing ???

Cumbrian flyfisher,

I think you will find things have changed. Most of the big comps have now been forced to move away from leven so information is more freely available. Check out willie the gillie, site below, information is spot on and willie on the day will give you the latest.

Just read it mate & see no reason why things should have changed given the weather patterns. Thanks for the link.

The water is fishing quite well just now, although the temp is holding good hatches back so most of the fish are being taken on DI5s and small lures or trads. If you are lucky to get a good hatch the sport is exceptional dries e.g. hoppers and snatchers (ginked) and cdc buzzers are catching! And this is local knowlage Ive obtained.
