Default Venacher

Hi There,

I am fishing on Venacher on Thursday the 26th June (this week) and as I have not been on since last year I would be most grateful for any information.

Areas, Flies and Flylines would be of special interest.

Many Thanks.

Best Regards

robbie

Default Venachar

I'm afraid that I can't help you for Thursday as I haven't been on Venachar this year yet.

As a National semi being fished there on Friday I think your chance of much public info before then is minimal! However, I am fishing there on Saturday, so if you would like to post your findings on Thursday or Friday evening, then I would be very grateful!

Good luck to Willster who is fishing on Friday....

Hi There,

A very hard day on Venacher.

Strong winds and mainly sunny with occasional clouds and one heavy shower.

Our club had thirteen rods out and we managed 6 fish for 5lb.11 oz.

I had two, one at 1lb.6 oz. and one at 1 lb.

One on a slow glass but off the top and one on a Di 3 deep.

I saw two other fish caught. Both were by anglers who were fishing sinking lines and pulling fast.

We fished mainly at the western end of the loch.

Only about 10 boats out and a a few more in the evening.

A tough and fairly tiring day.

Best Regards.

robbie

I'm looking forward to tomorrow - I think! I'll report later in the weekend.

Report as promised:

10 of us fished yesterday, taking 14 fish from a variety of locations around the loch. We saw very few fish moving naturally, although a very large fish (6lb plus, I estimate) porpoised near the burn along from grass bank. Others saw more fish than I did, so maybe I'm not very observant!

I had 3 fish, and my BP 2. Mine were on an olive palmer, with black head hackle and fluoro green wool tail. I fished a Di 5 sweep all day, and had fish at a variety of depths, from the surface to about 6 ft down. My BP took 2, both on a black sparkler, one on the surface and one down a bit, both on a clear intermediate. The fish seemed to want the flies moved quickly.

Regards,
