Default menteith---early shift 4am--9am 21/6/08

what a fantastic mornings fishing we had at the lake this morning, rising fish covering the whole lake from start to finish. me and my boat partner charlie had over 30 fish to our boat, with lots more dropped, follows, big bow waves it was amazing and from what i was seeing most of the other boats were catching on a very regular basis aswell-perhaps they can post here and tell you there experience for themselves. i fish menteith fairly regularly and the two early morning shifts they do each year are really special, if you have never done the early morning i cant recommend it enough, the next one is on saturday july 12th and i know that there are still boats available-so dont miss out, phone up and get your name down you wont regret it!!. ONLY CHANGE TO NORMAL PROCEDURE IS THAT YOU MUST TAKE YOUR ELECTRIC MOTOR as the petrol engines are not to be used to avoid waking up the neighbours.

Will second that robbo, we too had quite a number of fish to our boat aswell. The one thing i will say about the early morning shift is i cant get over the amount of fish rising............If you fish the lake often you need to fish one of these early sessions just to realise how many fish are in there and how BIG some of them are......I will definately be there in July.

Spoke to Douglas last night who said that the turnout was poor with only 8 boats. If they do not get a better turn out they will not repeat the sessions next year / in future so put the word out and get some bookings

Hi Guys ,
Had one of the best days fishing Ive had in years lost count how many fish me and my partner had to the boat most of the fish we caught were fish that were in for a while the fight was excellent, biggest est 5lb bar of silver all at the cages area all on dries. As most people who know me know l fish the lake regularly on day and evening sessions. I can whole heartedly say that the opportunity of fishing the early morning rise is in my opinion an experience that should not be missed by any angler. From the beginning to the end session you are covering rising fish with most casts. For these sessions not to be repeated next year would be an absolute shame, so anyone who's considering trying it give douglas or quint a phone and book a boat to help make sure this fantastic fishing is kept on for next year
