Default Carron Valley

Anyone been on Carron this weekend?

I am on next monday wondering how the fishing is doing? Any tips for locations/drifts tactics. Unfortunately I have not fished it for a couple of seasons, since before rainbows went in, can anyone advise if my set up should be markedly different to what I used to use when it was just browns?

Cheers.

I'd have thought Jim may have come in on this one ?

Didn't fish it this weekend but it's supposed to be fishing really well. We were up the other week and there are fish all over the place.

I reckon if you've fished it b4 and had success then use the same tactics.

Apparently for the bows, Carron Rabbit's and Viva's work well.

Good to see things are working out well for Fraser and Ian since the bows went in but there's still plenty of browns for the purists.

It was bloody hard today the wee broonies did not want to play i think the weather front coming in may have contributed to this. You may not get a lot of info as there are two semi's on this week

I was up last night as well. Had two and lost a few. The water felt warmer than the air temp. Managed a nice broony and a rainbow that was in excellent condition. Went like a train and was in great nick. Both fell to a certain gold, red and yellow lure on a floating line.
