It is very much a commercial fishery stocked daily with large fish and it's not cheap.
That said, it is a lot more pleasant than Sutton Springs, both to look at and to fish. It is generally well managed and reasonably friendly. And there is actually a really nice (but short) stretch of small chalk stream that you can fish C&R while you still have a fish left on your ticket. I have had some great fun with dry fly on the stream in the past, both for brownies and grayling.
It is also quite good for stalking some of the large fish, especially in the smaller lake. Though the last time I went (over a year ago) there was a lot of algal bloom on that lake.
I have also been pleased with the quality of the water and the stocked fish, on the very odd occasions that I have fished it.
They also have very good facilities and their breakfasts are superb
But, it is what it is, and it won't be everyone's cup of tea.........and it can get quite busy too.
Cheers,
