Default Loganlea & Glencorse

Anyone fished/fishing these Pentland waters at the moment?

I'm off there next Wednesday for 4hs on each and would appreciate any tips on good spots and flies/methods.

Many thanks.

Hi Esk
Its been a few years since I fished Loganlea it was mainly the top bay where the burn comes in that I had any success.Maily black flies hoppers&shippies, pulling trads ,Kates, blae&black with a small lure on the point. Glencoarse try the top bay at the far end up the arm its been fishing well same sort off flies Kates,Dunkeld, again small lure on the tail try working your way down the left hand bank that seems to be the shallow side.

tight lines.

fished loganlea last saturday, landed 2,lost a few more, fished with floating line and damsel fly up at the shallow end of the water. if you are fishing the bank it can get quite busy at the shallow end.damsel, buzzers, diawl bach will all catch you fish,(WATCH FOR THE WIND THOUGH) enjoy the fish fight hard most over 3lbs

Fishing early in the morning so hopefully quite quiet.

Have been tying some bachs and some Kate Mclarens.

Fingers crossed.

I was up at Glencorse last night in a flat calm.

Never touched a thing all night.

fished glencorse a few weeks ago, picked up a little wild brown (always a nice sign in a stocked reservoir) and a couple of hard knocks off bigger fish, lots of fish moving at the far end. One of the old boys out was bagging up big time right in the bank at the dog leg corner where the burn comes in, he recommended using something green.

Was down there last night after the torrential rain for a walk, the fish were boiling at the far end, must be feeding on inverts being washed down the burn. Spectacular brown plumes in the loch from the feeder burns, the outfall was wild!

Passed loganlea at the weekend, I presume there was a competition on but there was an angler every 20 feet, my idea of fishing hell sadly! Seems to be popular though and people were catching big rainbows.
