Default Gamefishers Club

As far as river fishing is concerned look at the Gamefishers Club. Nice little club with some excellent wild waters.

Gamefishers good but pricey membership. For day ticket stillwaters (if thats your thing) Ellerdine is just north of Telford and the best of that type of venue in that area (IMHO). Also Onny Vale. Delbury Hall in South Shrops too, together with Cound near Cressage, which is a bit bigger and gives you the option of taking a boat out. Wolverhampton way you have a bigger water at Patshull. If you want big fish from muddy holes Loynton near me will do the job, although I'm not much of a fan as you can probably tell! (although their lodge is excellent). Heading further into Derbsyhire for big waters, Carsington is excellent. If you are more Shrewsbury area then you are lucky to be closer to Wales than me, which will give you big lakes and rivers galore, but its not an area I know much about. Heading south towards Herefordshire gives you day ticket river options on the Wye, Monnow, Lugg and Arrow through the Wye & Usk Foundation voucher scheme - there are lots of threads about that on here and Tigermoth can give you info galore. Google any of the above names and you'll find their websites and details. Happy fishing!

Delbury hall is a cracking little place.Always fish there when up in Shropsire, will be up there at end of June and will be visiting yet again.
Hurst Farm near Bridgnorth is good value,a little off the beaten track and not advertised extensivly.

Cound at Shrewsbury is hard going at the mo no one I have spoke to have caught in the last 3 weeks including me, when I was there last week the one guy had been there all day no bites he was not impressed.

Ellerdine at Telford very nice well stocked caught my first brown there caught on a Klinkhammer.

Patshull nr Wolverhampton not much bank to fish from but I have caught the last 3 times from the bank I had a boat last week didn’t find it any easier to catch but it did keep me fit rowing around I caught on a Montana

Hadleigh who owns Cound used to post reports on here but not seen one for a while. He put a lot of stock in early on, all sorts, blues, tigers, charr, brook trout, but maybe a lot have come out??
