found this on another website , strange as i had the same experience lately .

i see from these posts that you visited ravensnest about 3 years ago . i am guessing alot has changed .
i decided to give it a go today as it was a great day for fishing , before i left the house at 12pm i checked their website , in order to find out the current pricing you have to send an email which i did and they then reply within 2 mins great .
the email came back and told me that it was £8 to fish and £3.50 for every fish caught . the website also said that they were open from 8am till dusk and they will smoke any fish you catch .
on arriving there were 2 cars in the car park and the place looked very tired , at this point i should have known all wasn`t right . the grumpy old man that we woke up on arrival didn`t even make eye contact as he took our name and then our money . right , the money , he asked for £10 to fish and £4 per fish caught . i told him that not 20mins ago he had emailed me a different price list , "WELL IT`S CHANGED " he said . i wasn`t happy but paid anyway , the fishing was very poor and no one else was catching much either which was strange as in the past people have said how it was a matter of dipping your fly in . at the end of the day i caught 2 fish and asked for them smoked , i was told they haven`t smoked fish for years and anyway they close at 5.30pm . at the end of the day i refused to pay for the fish i caught because of the way i was misled , with this the bloke snatched the bass bag off me , threw the fish so hard at the floor that the eye of one of my fish popped out and screemed at me to pay £8 , i paid the money and left , and i will not be going back . the place is on it`s ass and is being run on a shoe string which shows . they only except cash and i dont think for one minute that it is still being stocked twice a week as their lying website says .

i would send a warning out to all not to put yourself through the same ordeal as i went through , the place is an absulute shambles .

Used to fish it a few years ago when Arthur who originaly owned, it was a pleasure to go there sadly he popped his cloggs and his son took over who sold it to John the owner now, complete bull sh+tter hes pi++ed every day bad attatude he does not deserve custom.
