Default Powder Mills -Albury

Fished Powdermills last week and was a bit dissappointed - fish seemed to be cruising the margins in a carp like fashion. I hooked into one of these almost by accident and it made hardly any attempt to put up a fight and so it lumbered its way to the bank on the end og my line - quick bop on the head and it was all over. It was an unenthusiastic 5 lb'er.
I enjoyed the hunt but once hooked felt a bit let down - is this usual for Albury ?? don't get there very often, it is very well kept and pleasant but not sure i will make a further effort.
Regards

Paul,
The fish usually scrap well, however i guess there will always be a 'wet rag'.
Personally i would be happier catching fish of 1.5 to 2lb,they seem to scrap far better than the larger fish-invho.I have had the odd fish from there that just comes straight in,there again the total opposite is true.
Think its a little akin to large carp, the bigger fish do seem to be plodders whearas the smaller fish usually go ballistic.

Did you get many offers?,might get down there next friday morning for a couple of hours.

If I remember correctly, Powdermills had 2 lakes.
1 long & quite thin & the far one was small & round & used to be reserved for dry fly fishing for browns.
Probably all changed now though.
Is it still worth going?
