Hi Fatfish, I live quite close to the lake but havn't fished it yet.
Some of my friends have had a few fish and it sounds promising.
Your best bet is to PM terry cousin on the forum, he is an experienced angler and knows the lakes tactics better than most.
Hope that helps.

You'll need a boat from Gerrard at Glenridding Marine but last I heard he was charging about £40/day! Have only fished it a couple of times (early June), when wet mayflys/dabblers and black pennels were doing quite well. Mayfly's obviously the thing if they've started hatching off. I think there are a few bank spots that can do quite well of an evening, probably down towards Glenridding but not sure where exactly. Norris's at Penrith will also give you an update.

You could also try my mate Patrick via Windermere AA's website - he's out most days on the lake and I believe it's been fishing ok to trad loch stylee!

Being a philistine, i caught on worm by the side of the main road last month.
Spent all day casting as far as i could before the penny dropped at the last minute, and caught by fishing close in on the drop off close to the shore.
If i were to go again i wouldnt waste time in mid lake, but would only fish within 20yds of the shore.
Lovely coloured fish make up for any frustration felt.
