On the Lakes.
Recent rain coloured the water for a couple of days. It is now fining down nicely with a chance of some crystal clear water.....Come on you Stalkers...

Top flies this week - Damsel, Bloodworm, Large Black Leaches and anything with a bit of life.

On Meon Beat the Diawl Bach and Small Hares Ears have been doing very well, however, today - with a bit of sunshine around lunchtime the Adams as a dry was catching fish.


Fishing Tip

A Dry day out in February....

Over the past few months we've been ranting on about Winter flies -Lures in particular. However, the seasons are a changin' and if February proves to be the cold dry month as predicted, it will be an opportunity to have fun with the Dry Fly once more.

Unlike in the Summer, when there is an abundance of fly life all day, the best time to fish the dry is around lunchtime. This is the warmest, brightest part of the day, which attracts most fly activity at this time of year.

What won't work are your fully formed dries, such as the grey wulfe and mayfly.

At this time of year it is the emergers and small stuff that they'll go for. Try something like a Small Black Clinkhammer or a CDC Buzzer. F fly or Shipman's Buzzer.

Everything in small sizes, no bigger than size 14.

Group Events

Open Cast & Blast
The Open Cast & Blast will take place on the fourth Thursday of every month.

The day will be run as a normal Corporate Day, with a 50 bird clay session in the morning and a fishing session in the afternoon, both with instruction.

We will also provide a bacon roll breakfast on arrival, a wholesome lunch and afternoon tea, with prizegiving.

The fee per person is £155 including VAT.

TROUTMASTERS
Ron Wilder has done well today by catching a superb 7.5 Lbs. rainbow trout to a black leach on Whitewool Lake.

Albie Elliot is however still leading the month with his 8Lbs 5oz rainbow to a Daddy on Whitewool Lake.
