Default Avington

My fishing partner and I are off to Avington on the 29th and then off the the CLA game fair on the 30th.

Any news on the algae bloom at Avington? Last I read it was making lakes 2 & 3 unfishable.

Surely the weather cant hold until the 29th / 30th can it ??

Ian, How did the Avington trip go?

I have not been for a month or so now, the last time the water resembled pea soup! I am still waiting for Stalker to organise the social day there so I am hoping it will be clear soon.

Cheers Jeff

Me and Gilly are of to Avington on the 25th, pity Stalker did not organise the day out as he suggested but we have been waiting too long now so we are desperqate to have another go at the lakes. They say the bloom is clearing with the change of weather so lets hope another week will really get the place clear. Anyone wanna join us we have breakfast booked for 8.30 so come along.

Jeff

Hi Nutty,I,m still phoneing to check on the clarity,as it would be a long trip down just to fish lake 1 ,bear with me I will get it arranged but conditions conspired against us this summer! As soon as it clears i'll post a date.Believe me the delay in organising it has not been through lack of trying!Hope you have a good day, perhaps you could get back to me with an "on site" clarity report??Cheers
Stalker.

Hi Stalker

Nutty is on holiday now so I'll respond on his behalf. We had a good day, started with a very nice cooked breakfast in the lodge. The water quality is back to normal with all lakes being crystal clear.

Nutty and I tried, tried being the word here!, to stalk some of the larger fish in lake 3 but alas we could only bag fish to 6lb. We walked the lake for a good 2 hours but did not see anything bigger than the ones we caught. We did see some very large common and mirror carp though!

An 11lber came out of lake 1 in the morning but other than that nothing bigger than Nutty's 6lber. We saw loads of 3 to 4 lbers swimming about but were really looking for the bigger fish that we were assured were in there but being allusive!!

Fishery was fairly busy, probably about 12 anglers. One pair of idiots that wanted to fish in our pockets! Can't tell you how many fish were caught but it was a a fair few.

Still on to meet up there at some point if you are up for it?

Gilly
