Default Dilworth Reservoir (Longridge Lancs)

I’ve been asked to do some research for someone.

Does anyone have any information regarding Dilworth reservoir near Longridge (Lancs)? Tactics / Hotspots / Avoid totally because its rubbish etc. I know Stocks isn’t too far but isn’t an option for the person going unfortunately.

I’ve seen the RADAC website but the information is a little brief, and to be honest doesn’t sound too friendly “We are obliged to offer a limited number of day tickets to the general public” . Some of the rules are vague to say the least “Flies should be of a traditional pattern and tied to barbless hooks. LURES ARE NOT ALLOWED” what on earth does that mean

What about Barnsfold? Closer to Longridge than Stocks.
The “We are obliged to offer a limited number of day tickets to the general public”. It is part of the terms and condituions of waters owned by United Utilities and leased to fishing groups/clubs.
Unfortunately I don't know anythng about the water itself.

If it's anything like our club reservoir, Lower Ogden in Barley, (which has a similar clause from United Utilities but we are much more welcoming to non-members!) you'd struggle to catch anything this time of year on anything but lures. Take WF's advice and pop over to Barnsfold which you know will have been stocked more recently than the end of Summer.

Upper Dilworth might be worth a shot in the Spring.

I assumed that may be the case, but I think I would have changed the wording on the website to make it sound more visitor friendly even something like - "we are able to offer a limited number...." sounds better.

They won't be there until Easter so it may have warmed up a bit by then!
