Default Ellerdine Lakes

Hi All,
Just A quick update on the fishing this week at Ellerdine.
With plenty of anglers fishing this week weekly stocking will continue with a rod average of around 9 fish per angler.
Best Fish of the week was a 14lb 6oz fish safely weighed and returned by Brum angler Phil Bryant he later went on to release a further 21 Rainbows fishing a Black Nomad on Meadow Lake.
Mark Harrison Walsall braved the wind on Sunday to return a respectable 23 Rainbows to 4lb fishing a selection of nymphs and blobs on all lakes.
Mr C Taylor (Wolves) had two visits to Ellerdine this week fishing Cranymoor and returned over 40 fish fishing a selection of lures.
Prospects look excellent for the coming weeks with more large fish being stocked this week, Anglers are reminded the aerators will be running 24/7 if the frost comes back so there should always be somewhere to fish please ring if un sure.
Ellerdine will be holding there heat of the World Bank Masters Open on 3rd March 2012 £25 entry plus £25 fishing fees, All entrants will receive a goody bag worth £25 and the winner at Ellerdine will also get £100 for coming first, prizes for 2nd and 3rd also.

Hi All,

What a fantastic week at Ellerdine with a recorded 4 doubles and many more anglers saying they have returned fish around the 10lb mark.
Best Rainbow of the week went to Doug Pritchard Oswestry with a lovely Rainbow of 12lb 14oz taken on a Hares ear pattern.

Iain Buckley Crewe fished a bloodworm pattern 4ft underneath a bung to return 25 Rainbows to 6lb on Lakemoor which was the highest catch of the week.

John Coley Bridgnorth fished buzzers to return 21 Rainbows in 2 visits with fish upto 8lb.

Local Rod Pete Palmer High Ercall fished a Orange Dancer for a return of 11 Rainbows to 8lb on Cranymoor.

John Roscoe Edgmond started fly fishing for the very first time this weekend and after an hrs tuition he landed 4 Rainbows to 4.5lb he enjoyed it so much he returned the next day and caught fish of 4lb 5lb 5.5lb and 7lb all on a Hares Ear on a floating line from Meadow Lake, Well done John!!
Best Methods have been floating lines with Buzzers/Hares Ears or small Lures fished slowly.
Weekly Stocking continues.

Please don’t forget Aerators will be running 24/7 to try to keep lakes open if the icy weather returns please ring/text if unsure Edward (07860 299342)

Hi,
Meadow and Lakemoor were fishable today with the areators doing a cracking job (Cranymoor and Marsh closed) John finch Bridgnorth returned 21 fish to 7lb fishing his Bloodworm pattern.
With another stocking of 50 big Rainbows (average 8lb) and a hand full of stockies today tomorrow and the weekend looks to be very rewarding for some anglers.
Oh and a few of these went in also Click the image to open in full size.

Hi All,
The -10 temperatures did not put the fish or the anglers off this week with plenty of fish caught.
Best Rainbow of the week was a 14lb 5oz specimen taken by Fred jackson Coventry who fished a PTN on Meadow.
Another good fish of 13lb 6oz was caught by local angler Ziggy fishing a Cats whisker on Meadow lake.
John Finch Bridgnorth had another good day fishing his usual bloodworm pattern to release 21 rainbows to 6lb.
Visiting angler Grant Stevens Oldham wasn't dissapointed when he landed fish of 11lb 10.5lb and 9 lb on Lakemoor fishing a black buzzer he also returned one of the new Tiger trout of 5lb which have recently been stocked at Ellerdine.
Rod average was a respectable 6 fish per angler and i would say an average weight of over 4lb per fish, nymphs and buzzers have been taking the majority of fish this week despite the cold.

Ellerdine will be holding there heat of the Airflo World Bank Masters Open on 3rd March 2012. £25 entry plus £25 fishing fees, All entrants will receive a goody bag worth £25 and the winner at Ellerdine will also get £100 for coming first. There are prizes for 2nd and 3rd also; this is a friendly competition fished to fishery rules so anyone can enter.
