Default yes

It is fishing its head off and the stocking size is the best I have seen in nearly 20 years of fishing the place, are you boat or bank fishing ?

Default Rutland advice for a novice

Hi, have only been fishing for a year and only recently tried other large waters (Pittsford/Draycote).

Anyone got any advice on best place/way to start at Rutland? Would be bank/wading. Not too bad on the distance casting if needed.

Jane

Hi Jane

I fished it last week over Friday and Saturday (comp fishing from a boat). If the fish are still roughly in the same areas then anywhere from Church Bay near the lodge all the way up the Normanton Bank to Fantasy Island is definitely worth a go. A lot of bankies were fishing floaters / midgeys and 'twiddling' - probably buzzers and diawl bachs I would guess - and they were catching good numbers. It might also be worth a trip up the North Arm to Barnsdale Steeps, Finches, and around Sykes Lane and Stockie Bay - plenty of good quality fish came from there on Saturday - our team had plenty 3lb+ upto 5lb 6oz.

Hope this helps and good luck !

Ben
