Default Summerfields

Had a trip to Summerfields trout fishery near Sandy on Sunday. Fishing was very easy as we got takes on anything at the right depth which was pretty deep. There was a chilly breeze so this probably put the fish well down.
Caught mine on orange and black booby blobs. It's a pleasant little fishery but I thought the fish were a little on the small side.

Visited this fishery, near Haynes in Bedfordshire for the first time today with my brother, and what a pleasant surprise it was. The temp was around 29 degs, bright sun and quite a breeze, and we still got 4 between us, all well over 2 lbs (one pushed 3 we think) and all great fighters in the almost crystal clear water, which we were told comes from a spring. Small nymphs and buzzers seemed to be best on the day.
It is a man made lake dug out of a field, but for this time of year to be able to catch hard fighting r/b's in great condition from a small fishery is great fun and Ted the bailiff could not have been more pleasant and helpful. We were told that there are depths of up to 30 feet here and i guess that 1) that's where they all went mid p.m and 2) why the fish are still fit and in great condition. Generally it's a NO c and r water but if you get into a big 'un which we understand are in there, they can be released if in a fit state to go back.
As I said, a real pleasant surprise and we'll be back and soon.
Regards to you all.

ps 15 quid for 2 fish, 25 for 4 and I think the 2 fish ticket can be upgraded to 4 for a tenner rather than buying another 2 fish ticket. (clear?)
