Default Roughlee - Lancashire

Just a quick post to give you an update about Roughlee in Lancashire.
I went there for the first time on Saturday with two friends. They both had two rainbows of about 2lb each whereas i unfortunately blanked.
I put the blank down to a chilly east wind, a hail storm and bloody-minded fish (and i am still pretty much of a novice with a fly line).

However, it was a fantastic little fishery, well stocked (i could see them just not catch them) with great facilities including an anglers shelter with free tea, coffee and magazines to read.

The owner lives on site and was most helpfull. He has a hot tub between his house and the lake.
I must get to know him better as it must be one hell of an experience to cast a line whilst sitting in a hot tub with a beer nearby!

All in all it was three happy anglers who left and we are all in agreement that we will return again in the future. And i would reccommend any of you guys give it a try if you havn't been before.

Is Roughlee the fishery that is like a wide canal stretch? ie about 25 yards wide with trees on the far bank and about 200 yards long. Think I fished it about 6 years ago or so. As you said it was a nice set-up but like you I also blanked. But I did see other people catching so I must say it was my fishing and not the place.
