Default Woodhouse Newton le Willows

Hi,

Kid brother is a novice who wants to try out his new rod next week, sadly after his knee op rivers are out for the time being.

So has anyone fished this water recently and would it be any good for a novice who cant cast too well and could do without another blank?

Cheers Paul

Try Pendle View, its easy fishing and has seating all around the lake.
I started fly fishing here after years away from the sport.
Cant recommend the place highly enough.
A superb water for beginners and not too far away from you.

Me too, I started at Pendle View and thought I was a fishing god within a few visits I was easily catching double figure bags I could also cover the water with my casting. It was only when I visited other waters I realised I was actually pants at everything, it needed lessons with an instructor to sort all that.

If your brother is desperate to catch fish Id make the trip, it really is the easiest fishing you will find.

Woodhouse fishery,
Swann Road
Newton le Willows

I visited Woodhouse about 8 weeks ago.
It was very difficult to find.
I would not attempt driving to the fishery in anything other than a Jeep or tractor.
Some of the pot holes on the access road (Track) are 2 foot deep. A local told me never to consider if it has been raining.
Anyway...Its quite a small place with 2 lakes, I think 1 is for coarse fishing.
There were guys in tents with 6 rods each.
I stayed for about 4 hours.....not much activity and never had any action at all.
There was tons of suface weed

I think if the road to the fishery was improved, I would give the place another chance. It would be my closest venue by many miles.
Anyone else visited this place?

Joe
