It was cloudy with a light, generally southerly, breeze when I arrived at 11.30. Later, it became brighter and the breeze swung through most points of the compass. Tried North Farm Bay but never had a sniff so moved further up the south bank to Sermons. Soon into fish on size 12 Olive Buzzers. The fish were not very far down and wanted the fly fished slowly so changed to washing line set-up which worked just fine. When I packed up at 4 pm I had caught 7 fish up to 3lbs; 2 were returned. Once again, spooning revealed that the fish had been feeding mostly on tiny olive buzzers.

Spotted a pair of martins fluttering, I thought rather ruefully, in a northerly direction.
