Just to let anybody who is planning a trip to Roadford Reservoir for a spot of Brown trout only FFishing, it is no longer a brown trout only fisherie I Fished Roadford yesterday only to be told by a passing watersport instructor that it had in the last few weeks been stocked with 2000 Rainbows in the hope it would attract more FFishers, personally i liked the challenge of trying to catch the Brownies in the unstocked water.

Thanks Ollie for that info. I have just e-mailed the Watersport Centre to ask what their future stocking policies are going to be. You didnt say how your day went fishing wise.

Didn't we have a thread here recently suggesting that it had become a Perch water?

I have it on good authority that Roadford will not be stocking with rainbows. Ther will be a supplemantary stocking of browns later this week to feed the perch.

I was told it Was stocked with rainbows approx 2 weeks ago with fish averaging 1 3/4lb i have just spoke to South West Lakes Trust and they could not confirm this, just waiting to hear back from the fisheries manager.

SWLTrust has just rung me back and informed me that they have not stocked any Rainbows and dont know how this rumour got spread, but it is being stocked today with Brownies

It is being stocked on Wen with around 1600 brownies.

There will be NO rainbows put in at all.

The stocking is to supplement the good head of Browns that are there already.
