Default Loynton Trout Fisheries

This place is fishing very well currently despite changeable weather conditions (to say the least).

Even during Saturday's weather most anglers were catching. We've had some great scraps with fish 2-8lbs and I saw one double landed last week that looked like a salmon it was so silver.

It seems the fishery is publishing weekly reports now on their website over at: - http://www.loyntontroutfisheries.co....ng-report.html

Steve - looks like prices have gone up?? or did they go up last year but I missed it? As you know, I only live a stones throw away but prices seem steep to me compared to others in area of similar type - £20 sporting?. Also I prefer bigger venues, but might fish Loynton more (for convenience sake) if I thought it was better value. Good to hear its fishing well anyway.

Jeff,

It was £25 for two fish last year, so no change. It is a little steep though.....

Just shows how long ago I last fished it then! And STILL no prices for juniors so I can't take my lad

I'm not a big fish chaser, but I wonder how they justify being more expensive than Ellerdine? And currently you have the likes of various midlands ressies fishing their heads off for a fraction of the price, with water you can actually see through.

Jeff, if you are not into big fish that is fair enough, at the end of the day a larger average fish size is what you are paying for at Loynton along with some very nice facilities (that log burner has thawed me out more than enough this winter).

Not sure what you mean regards water clarity, the lakes are clear and have been all winter. On the reservoir front, fishing is only cheap if you ain't in a boat and then a lot of fish you catch are 1-1.5lb (though granted the over wintered fish are worth waiting for). On 7wt gear (or heavier in some cases) that's not much of a scrap!
