Cool Roadford

Hi all

I am going to give Roadford a try in about Mid April. Last went down about 4 years ago. There were a lot of Perch about. Whats it like now?. I was wondering if boobies on a static sinking line is any good. Any thoughts?

Cheers

I fished it last year and had a couple of nice brownies.

There as still Perch in there but move around and you can avoid them.

I would fish a black tadpole on an intermediate with a long tail.

Hi
Fish the margins and you should do ok.
Why not try Fernworthy?
No perch and plenty of brown trout.
Cheers

Wink

Thanks guys. I have been up to Fenworthy to have a look but never fished it. (had my other with me). The locals I met at Roadford wouldnt give anything away but watching them they waded out and stayed in one spot letting the flies swing round on the breeze.

I fished there mid-April last year and had a super day fishing small black emergers and spider patterns on a floater. Four really good-looking browns to 14", two of them showing their sea trout heritage. Fish light, travel light and keep moving. If you see someone else go the other way. It was a great day.
