Default Hayes farm trout fishery

I see a lot of old threads about this place, but nothing for a while. Is it still up and running? Does it fish well, and is it fishing well at the moment? The scenery (was) very dull, so only worth going for the fishing.

Thanks for any info.

Hmm, no replies sodont know if anyone cares, but went to check it out anyway, so Ill post a reply to myself. Very weedy, no signs of fish moving, told by baliff its too weedy to catch well. Also scenery is still awful, and lots of casting snags on barbed wire fence close to waters edge. However, due to poor fishing, the baliff will let you fish for £5, so if its in your area and you want some cheap winter casting practice so you dont get rusty (like their barbed wire fence), then could check it out.

Guess Ill have to cough up the fuel and go to Bewl.

Hi
Went over to take a look a few months ago as we were interested in having a crack. Some have described it as a hole in the ground, others have been more complimentary. It was ok,not wonderful but we would have fished it.However the water level was very very low, lots of weed and i mean lots and we were told by someone who showed us the water on arrival to leave alone until water levels return.
Fish were topping out in the middle though. We do know someone who fishes it and he reckons it's stocked on a very add hoc basis and can be damn hard or silly easy depending on stock.
We are going to try it around next March/April as we feel that it would be the optimum time.

"I went down with my mate about a couple of months ago just to have a look around.Chocked with weed and water levels very low, there were however a few fish moving out in the middle.Spoke to a guy who showed us the fishery, said leave it until the colder weather and rains arrive.
Have heard various reports from an ok place to a s###e hole.Well it looked ok to us,not a great looking spot but certainly not a dump either.
We know someone who does fish it from time to time and he reckons it is not stocked to any pattern,so you really do take a chance on stocking levels.
Having said all the above,we will be giving it a try towards March/April as i feel that is possibly going to be the optimum period."

Haha was looking around online and found someone in a different forum asking the same question as me, your response to us both was pretty much the same!
