It used to be a very up market fishery and mentioned in books published in the eighties, stocking large fish!

Anyone remember the bell that was rung to remind people that it was time for lunch!

Not that 'up market' - I used to fish it! Yes, I remember the bell and lunch, provided by Tim and Don, was always very good. One winter I was a member of the small group that used to shoot over the ponds.

I haven't been there for years and wasn't at all certain it was still opperating as a fishery.

Lighthouse you are right to say not that "up market" if you fished there!

Angry RE: Churchill fishery

I haven't fished it for over a year now as I don't think it is run anywhere as well as when Tim had it!
The fish looked diseased with a white fungus and covered in lice and the lake in front of the house didn't have any fish in as the owner uses it for his collection of ducks! Also although not the owners fault it is crawling with American Signal Crayfish and if you use a sinking line you get plagued by them!
I used to regularly visit this fishery but since the new owners came it's gone down hill and I wouldn't go back!!
