Can't wait to get out there and drop a long marabou damsel under those trees... that said the heatwave will have caused all manner of problems.. i find NOV-May to be the best time and i hope to have a good few days there this winter; I know for a fact there are some huge browns in there that have yet to grace the bank. incredibly, they don't lose condition too badly, and ive had overwintered browns that show the silvery colour of Grafham fish, and are still big, and strong.
That said, i had a PM from some forum members who reported it was difficult beyond belief at the moment. a lot of rods blanked and only one or two fish were caught.
On its day lechlade is WITHOUT doubt the best fishery in the country and it seems to breach the gap between small stillwater and ressie in that the fish really do grow well there and overwinter well but its a fickle mistress. I've been lucky enough not to blank there for years, but it's been bloody close a few times. fish it in settled weather of what ever type and you;ll catch. fishi it in changed conditions and you'll struggle.
Good luck. i can't wait to have a crack at it.
