Default Who Actually Believes the Weather Forcast

Date: Monday, September 19 @ 09:41:57 BST
With both the BBC and ITV making out that the weather last week would be horrendous, there was actually only one day that anglers would have found conditions difficult, the other six days were fine and in fact, three days, were perfect for fishing in, catches have been good and fish are pretty well moving and being caught in all parts of the loch, everyone is having a good day with the average catch being around 6 or 7, first thing in the morning and last at night approx 7.30 pm there are still fish rising, although nothing like the warm summer rises they are still coming up for dry flies, and some anglers are doing very well using dries, the weed which returned last week has abated a little however if calm weather prevails this week and with some helpers I am hoping to remove most if not all the weed that is causing the most problems, during the day anglers are getting fish using mostly brightly coloured wet flies or nymphs and Bloodworms etc~ buzzers have not been all that great this year mostly due to the wet conditions I would imagine that the fish have actually got plenty to eat on the bottom and that’s why they have not been so active for them, to-day the forecast was supposed to be heavy showers with a cold wind in actual fact at 9am its bright sunshine with no clouds in sight 18 degrees and fish showing in most areas.

I always read the BBC weather forecast. Then ignore it.

I use the BBC weather forecast and very often it's a good indication of the type of weather to expect. It's not 100% accurate I use my seaweed and pine cones for that.

Billy Connolly told me how to get an accurate weather forcast many years ago 'look out the bloody window'. He's right!

The BBC Scotland weather girl Cat Cubie, does it really matter what she says?

We had a fishing match on Sunday at Foremark Reservoir

The week before right up to the Saturday the weather predicted by the BBC and metcheck was never less than 15mph winds with nothing less than horrendous rain.

The day before it gave thunder and lightning.

On the day we had a 5 minute shower, Foremark was flat calm most of the day and there was 1 distant rumble of thunder! However many people nearly pulled out of the match based on the weather reports.

I think weather reports are only good for the current day
