Thumbs up Winter Fishing At Farmoor

First of all I'm sorry I haven’t kept up to date with the fishing status at Farmoor.
We continue to enjoy really good fishing. In the last month the rod average has been as high as 4.7 and hasn't fallen below 2. There is to be a 'Spring Pairs' match in March. I will post all the details as a separate thread later this week. We have had a write up in the Trout magazine this month where the decision taken by us to open all year round is discussed along with a report on the boat fishing. It's not long until the adjacent reservoir opens for catch and release; I’ve had a couple of exploratory sessions on there in the past week. I was lucky enough to take several Rainbows from 3lb 8oz to 7lb + and a good few feisty browns at 2lb+ , all taken from the bank. I have no doubt that this fishery will prove popular so please remember to book ahead as we are only issuing tickets to 15 rods per day. The new annual tickets are now available for midweek and Full week subscriptions; the prices remain the same as last year but with the addition of 6 weeks longer fishing for 2008/9. As soon as I can work out how to post photos of the catches from last week I can show you the quality of the fish you can expect to catch.

All the best

Royston, I read that article but was confused. Mr Horsey talked about spooning his fish, not finding much in them, but then goes on to say that they released several fish.

As far as I know it’s a kill or catch and release ticket only, not both? I take it Mr Horsey got special treatment?!!! Or did his boat partner kill, and Mr Horsey C&R? It didn’t come across like that if they did.

And a shame they didn’t include any fishery details at the end of the article for you.

Howard
I'm sorry I can't comment on the type of ticket they had as I was taking a holiday but I'm sure they adhered to the rules as written. Hope to see you soon at Farmoor
