Default Boringwheel

I am going there at the end of the month with a few members of a Sea fishing forum and was wondering if anyone from here has fished it recently.

Haven’t fished it for months, but check out their website for up to date info. A cat’s whisker or blue flash damsel will work, or if the waters more coloured than it normally is (its normally a dirty brown), something big and black. A black tadpole will do.

It’s a small fishery, so hope you’ve booked? Tightlines.

If you can, try and fish from the point[you'll see where I mean]and fish straight out in front of you towards the big lily bed. Try a gold headed buzzer fished slow and deep and as close to the lilies as you can.
Failing that, fish a floating foam beetle out near the trees to you left, where there's a small inlet. Just let it float, but keep an eye on it, the bigger rainbows tend to hit them very hard indeed.

If fishing from a boat, head towards the small concrete dam and fish a big black tadpole with a couple of bits of blue flash in the tail, fish them slow and deep on an intermediate line.

As Howard says, hope you've booked your tickets???

Good luck,

Rich

5 of us from the SCSA forum fished today and although the venue was crowded we all managed to find a spot to fish , 2 went out on the boats but gave that up after a couple of hours because they were not getting any bites and they got fed up watching the bank anglers catch fish.

Highlite of the day was our one complete novice catching his first 3 Trout , after a bit of casting instruction.

The flies that worked were Black + Green lures , Cats whiskers and
Damsel Nymphs on floating and intermidiate lines.
A good days fishing

It’s an out of season brownie, it goes back, simple.
