Default Meon Springs

Dear Colin,

A YURTY FISHING BREAK.....
We are now getting to the end of the holiday season, and our Yurt Village is less busy during the weeks - So, we thought we would open it up to you keen anglers.

Now, these yurts are really, really comfortable. You arrive to made up beds, with fresh linen. Each one has a wood-burning stove & BBQ outside - Plus, we have The Yurtery, which is a centrally heated chill out lounge and kitchen.

Each yurt comfortably sleeps four people.

Here's the deal - Come and stay with us, Monday to Friday on the following weeks.

19th September 2011
3rd October 2011
17th October 2011

You can fish every day and, as a yurt customer, you only pay for the fish you catch (£7.50 each).

On the Tuesday morning of each of these weeks, we will run a two hour tuition morning (free).

The fee for the four nights, is just £85 per yurt. So for four people, that's less than £6 per night per person.

If you wish to book this, you can do this online using the link below:

https://secure.supercontrol.co.uk/av...1&siteID=10441

And in the notes section - just write FISHING DEAL £85.

If you would like more info, please call Roger 01730 823134.

On Saturday 24th September, Whitewool Lake will be closed for a Group Event.

With Keith on holiday this week, Roger is doing the fishing tip and update and takes full responsibility for the words of wisdom.....

On the Lakes.
Whitewool Lake is as clear as a bell, with plenty of water from the recent rains. With lots of daddies and shrimps around, the best flies this week have been buzzers and daddies. Bright orange and yellow has worked exceptionally well.

This Weeks Fishing Tip

The easiest way, ever to achieve the perfect Roll Cast...

Many peoples first attempt to do the roll cast is something like a normal overhead cast gone wrong.

However, there are some very simple principles that if you follow, will turn wet flick into a stylish cast that will impress your friends and catch your quarry.

The main technique is to form a D with your fly line and when it reaches the top, cast it forward. The principles below, will perfect this simple action.

1) Lift the rod high enough, - so that the reel is in line with your eyes. Many people forget this and therefore fail to get the line off the water as they cast forward.

2) Give it some welly as you flick the line forward. Often you will do this cast in wet and windy conditions. The line needs appropriate power to get out there.

3) Take your time - The Roll Cast comes into its own when you have a narrow bank with greenery behind. If you rush it, there will be a good chance that you'll take the rod back too far and catch a twig, rather than a fish.

Troutmasters
Although Ollie Newman did well with his two fish, 6Lbs 8oz and 6Lbs 3oz, he has been surpassed by Kevin and Sarah Saunders who caught a 7Lbs 8oz trout out of Whitewool Lake. Well done (and thanks for the Guernsey Gache)
