Default Rib Valley

Fished Rib Valley for the first time today and found it very difficult! Didnt have a touch all day until I went out on the jetty and hooked one first cast but then lost it!!! Luckily I had one more pull before my time was up and this one I managed to net. Nice fish of about 3lb caught on a green and white gold head on a floating line retrieving very quickly. I saw only 2 other fish caught and both were from the the same spot I had my fish. I tryed just about every area on the lake at every depth, intermediate, slow sink, fast sink, buzzers, boobys, and still nothing.

Has anyone else has fished it lately?

Between 20 and 40 yards depending what line I was using.

Yup, it's hard there at the moment.

The method generally at this time of the year is a Di7, with blobs or boobies, especially green/white. You'll catch two or three that way but not a very exciting day.

If you keep moving every half an hour or so, you'll eventually find some fish, then you can try other methods. Best area is near the lodge at this time of year

Will be good in April/May.

Did try a Di7 with a booby, in fact I tryed everything! But as you say everybody I spoke to today commented on how hard it is.

I fished Rib Friday and Sunday and caught a few fish

I used black buzzers with a short bright marabou tail tied in retrieved slowly on a floating line

Had pulls from the lodge round to the jetty
