Rib has now opened for its winter season and is full of fish.

There will be an Open Day on Saturday Sept 24th run by Rib Valley Fly Fishers when people can come and learn about the water, receive free casting and fishing tuition from members and see what sorts of flies and rigs work on the venue.

The event will run from 10.00 to 1pm and will finish with a BBQ.

Hi Charlie,

I've sadly missed this particular open day at Rib but, having just moved up to Hertford in the last few weeks I'm keen to get there more often - I managed to get there just yesterday, and I hope to join the RVFF later this week when I'm next at the tackle shop.

I've been to Rib a few times over last 2 years, but it's never been this close before, so I'm keen to find out how to make the most of this venue.

Are there any more educational days like this in the pipeline for rigs, flies and local features? I've seen "Fur and Feather" in the RVFF diary, but I'm guessing this might be a competition...
