Default Golden Loch today

Been looking forward to my first outing of the 2008 season and after a few weekends called off due to the **** weather I finaly got out for some stockie bashin today

The weather wasn't ideal- A strong SW wind but at least it was pretty mild. I took out one of the boats and started fishing just out from the jetty. Second cast I caught and released a 1.5lb brownie then a few casts later got this rainbow on a mini cat.

Tried some nymphs and buzzers for a while but with no success went back onto the fast glass.

Got two more from the same spot on a damsel before moving around the loch to the far end as the wind was fairly howlin down the loch.

It was much more sheltered up this end so tried the buzzers again but with no luck switched back to the lures and instantly started hitting fish. Caught and released another 4 rainbows including a nice slim overwintered fish that fought like stink!

Ended the day with 3 fish and another 4 released. It was an enjoyable day and not bad for 20 quid.

I was trying out a new line today: an Orvis Wonderline Gen 3 Clear Intermediate. Its pretty ****! Even after repeated stretching it looked like a slinky on the ground. It cast well mind you but cant stand the coils. Just as well it was half price!!

Tightlines,

TS

Cheers guys,

Yeah my shakes were gettin too much to handle

Unfortunately no char-I was hoping to connect with one of them tho!

I'm not a huge fan of small waters but the Golden Loch is excellent and very well run. Always plenty of fish and you can nearly always get them on top of the water stuff. I've been fishing it for quite a while now and its only got better with time-a lot of other places have gone the other way so its nice to see its not all doom and gloom.

Also like how he keeps the website so up to date-reports every week
