Blithfield report 1/9/11
If you enjoy top of the water and dry fly fishing, who doesn't, then get over to Blithfield as the fish are on top in all conditions taking dries from red or orange shipmans to large amber hoppers. A few hours afloat on Thursday in bright sun saw 10 fish to the boat in just 2 hours. In fact, as the sun set the fish went off ! Best area is down the middle in the south lake with lots of fish also near the bank at the gorse bushes. Staff tell me that the banks are picking up and that good quality fish are now being caught off boat and bank in the shallows up the Tad Arm. September is when the fish begin to move closer to the banks and I expect that some large fish will be seen chasing fry.
