Default Farmoor

Farmoor still fishing well although a bit difficult with the weather conditions being rather windy today. Fish are quite a way out due to the water level being so low but cant see this changing until the rain eases and the Thames slows down a bit so as they can start pumping in. Had four nice fish from 2-3 pound and all were taken on a black booby just at the start of the retrieve. All fish were full finned and fought well. Looking forward to getting back there as soon as possible.

Thanks for the report FS.

Did you take the fish from the bank or from a boat?

Thinking of a first trip to Farmoor on Friday, and tips?

Thanks

Jon

I was fishing from the bank although where I was stood should have been 10 foot under water! The levels are low at the moment which makes casting a little more difficult and the fish are quite a way out. I have just started fishing Farmoor again after a 10 year gap and it is fishing the best I have ever known it for this time of year. Boobys work very well at the moment with black and green seeming to be the best option on a Di7 with about a 5 foot leader. Although the fish seem to be a way out at the moment this is definately not allways the case as fish can be taken very close in. A few weeks ago I caught 5 all within 10 yards from the bank. Would allways reccomend watching the fly when it comes in as you will often see fish following. Hopefully the rain will ease soon and they can get the levels back up to how they should be which should make the fishing even better! I would recommend Farmoor to anybody for excellent fishing at a great value!
