Hi Ally, It all depends on what the weather does. If its dry head for the bays and back of gull island. Dries are working alot with pulling bibios and kates with a cat on the tail. Don;t go deeper than a fast glass. I will also be there Sunday putting the boats out so will see you there.

After our engine getting fixed after it packed in 50 yards from the jetty we headed to the bays on the far side of the loch.

Managed 5 rainbows and half a dozen wee browns. Started off with a couple of nymphs and a cat booby in a washing line set up, had one on the booby, browns went for the nymphs. Went quiet on top so switched to a gold head viva nymph and had a couple of rainbows on that. Heather fly appeared on the top and the fish appeared too so swapped to a floater and a heather fly and had my first two rainbows to a dry fly (!)

I heard that various dries were successful and saw a beast of a rainbow at 10lbs 10oz that took a dry.

Only downside was my new rod snapped at the top section playing my second fish! Thankfully it is under warranty.
